  1. Does anyone know of software I could use to convert mpegs and Quicktime movies to AVI? I would like to hotsync them to my PDA but it will only play AVI's. Thanks.

  2. The QuickTime Player Pro (registered) version can convert MOV and MPEG-1 files to AVI. I'm not sure what AVI codecs it supports however, and you would also need to know what AVI codecs your PDA can play.

    - not very well. Good luck to you.

It's a slow process, and I've had very bad luck with it personally. The only way I ever got it to work on some clips was to open it in a Quicktime-aware editing program (like Premiere), and totally re-encode it to the format you can use (AVI). Even the "Uncompressed AVI" format is buggy and erratic with Quicktime Pro, so good luck once again.
