  1. Hi,

I've been trying to play video that I recorded using a new Casio Exilim EX-S600 digital camera. When I play the video, however, the sound is delayed and doesn't match up with the visual content.

I presume this is some kind of codec problem, but I have no idea how to resolve this or what codec to get.

I am using Windows Media Player 10 to play the video on a powerful pc that runs Windows XP. The video is in MPEG-4 format. The software that comes with the camera includes Windows Media Player 4 and a codec for Windows 98, but nothing for XP users with the latest version of Windows Media Player. Casio don't offer support for software problems such as this.

I have tried Windows Media Player version 11, but that doesn't work either.

The video plays back ok on someone else's computer using Windows Media Player on Windows XP, so I can't understand why all videos that I download from my new camera have this problem on my computer.

I'd appreciate any advice that anyone can offer.

    Thanks!

    Emmett

    Hi Emmett,

Try running the video through gspot - that will tell you whether you have the required audio & video codecs on your system.

Just because you're nobody, doesn't mean that you're no good. Just because there's a reason, doesn't mean it's understood. It doesn't make it all right ! (The Specials)
