  1. I finally finished my edited video, but when I do multiplex and add the video to the edited sound I have created(mp2 file) I get a warning message at the end saying

"12656 s packets cause buffer underflow.
The MPEG file might cause error when it played."

The video plays normally and the audio is ok, but gets a little distortion at certain parts in the audio.

Is there any way to change this?

  2. Oh, yes. Change the way you edit the files and most probably the error will change also.

Try running both files through virtualdub to correct sync errors.

Do some searching on the net and you will be able to fine a MPEG2 capable version of Virtual Dub. Im not sure its an offical release. It gets the job done, might be a little buggy, but free is free.

Pff, then try to run a mpeg2 "through" these versions to see what will happen.

I just did, I didnt get any problems. The only notice I got was it didnt like the Divx versions of drivers I had, but the tools worked fine for mpegs. After it parsed the mpeg file i was able to apply filters just as in the virtual dub meant for Avi's.

Then this is how you want to correct audio synch errors in a mpeg2 file??? (this was the question asked)

It can't hurt to run a 'scan video stream for errors...'. VirtualDub is like a swiss army knife in the battlefield... use it to operate until you get a hold of a scalpel.
