I am going crazy with all the information regarding video capturing. I have read countless articles and forum posts and it makes me more confused.

Pardon me if this is not "by the book", but a 5 minute phone call will solve much more compared to days and days of forum postings and replies.

If any video wizard is gracious enough to share their video wisdom on a quick call I will owe you a favor.

Email me at neon303@hotmail.com and I will provide you my phone number.

    thanks in advance

  2. Learning to capture video well will take MUCH more time than a 5 minute phone call. You have to jump in there. You will learn more by trial and error, just like all of us did.

  3. Fully explaining it will take longer than five minutes. You just got to dive in, try, fail, search for answers, and eventually start understanding it. It takes time and dedication.

Easy generic solution. Get a DVD recorder at Walmart.

    lol ed...

neon, i saw ur other post. I feel the major problem is that u tend to blow things out of proportion. the second problem, is that the guys reply to u assuming u know what is being mentioned, as u said u have read lots of articles, but they suddenly see that u dont and have to go back and explain the concepts, which they don't have to mind u.

regarding the step u took for interlacing and deinterlacing. i understand u were doing tests, but before that, u should have known why this option is used and not the other...etc.

a general advice: Decide what u need to capture ( what media), decide on what u need to do with it. THEN, u go on with the best settings for capturing and exporting, burning...etc... NOT, fiddel with settings and expect to get it right. i would call that blind trial and error approach. u have to read more.

for example: u cant just capture from vhs, then decide to deinterlace, then put it on dvd and expect to watch it on a tv monitor. I'll let u do ur homework on all of these matters.

as the other nice members said: u cant learn anything about capturing in 5 min. and not even in 10 hrs. if u dont get ur hands dirty.

of course u always have ed's suggestion.

hope u decide to read. ( make sure u also read about lower fields and upper fields..u might fall a victim of that too)

    cheers,
    VERVE
