You're confusing resolution w/ display aspect ratio. Common DAR include: 1:1 PC, 4:3 TV, 16:9 Movies. However, you can have these DARs at any resolution. Here's the problem, your TV has a DAR of 4:3 ONLY. To display a 16:9 source you have to use widescreen/letterboxing. The SVCD standard resolution is 480x480. You can have/add the black bars to the top/bottom of the screen to preserve the original aspect ratio.
If you are using TMPGenc, load your desired template and source. Then click on settings, then click on the advance tab and choose:
Source Aspect ratio: 16:9 525 line NTSC
Video arrange method: Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio) -
Ok, thanks for the info
but I'm gonna use the method involving Cinema Craft Encoder, what do i do for that?
