Hi all,
Is there a simple way to filter a sound (wav) file so volume level of
conversation can be increased while that of background music is
left unchanged.
Thanks for any help.

Thats always been a pain in the arse. The old school way was to give the dialogue about a 3 frame handle on either side and wipe them in and out of the words. Then run another background fill track that covers up the holes.

Using Soundforge (see picture)
Like most other films, the talking is very quiet but action scenes are too damn loud.
Ran it through dynamics twice and talking and action scenes are a lot better, plus i do not have to mess with the volume on the tv while watching the film.
I do the same for other films.
