  1. Hi all,

    Is there a simple way to filter a sound (wav) file so volume level of
    conversation can be increased while that of background music is
    left unchanged.

    Simple, as in one-button fix - no. However by carefully working with EQ filters and settings you may be able to build it up.

    Thats always been a pain in the arse. The old school way was to give the dialogue about a 3 frame handle on either side and wipe them in and out of the words. Then run another background fill track that covers up the holes.

    Using Soundforge (see picture)



    Like most other films, the talking is very quiet but action scenes are too damn loud.

    Ran it through dynamics twice and talking and action scenes are a lot better, plus i do not have to mess with the volume on the tv while watching the film.

    I do the same for other films.
