I hope some one can help...

Sometimes when i play a backed up dvd (sony standalone dvd player), the volume goes up and down during playback.
I use dvdfabdecrypter and shrink to compress/burn the dvd. It doesnt matter what kind of dvd i burn to...it still sometimes happens. Playback is perfect, but the audio noticably goes up and down in segments of the movie.

Non burned dvd's dont do it..

    any ideas?

    thanks..

    Hi zuzxi,

    Welcome to the forums.

Play back the ripped and the shrunk files on your PC - do either of those have audio problems?

  4. Sounds like some auto-volume thing on your player. Does it have a "Midnight" mode"? If so, turn it off.

  6. It's a mode that some players (or receivers) have that boost levels during quiet parts. The idea is that you can watch DVDs after the kiddies have gone to bed without waking them up. The levels are boosted during quiet parts, so you dont have to turn the volume loud.
