Hello, I am trying to burn a DVD but when I put in my brand new, just out of the wrapper DVD disc, it keeps telling me the media is not blank and asking me to erase the contents. I click yes, and then it asks me again, and it keeps asking. I've tried with 2 brand new DVD's that were sealed and got the same problem. I am using Philips DVD+RW 120 min Video 4.7 GB data DVD's. What could be wrong?

  2. What happens if you just put the disk in your drive, click on "My Computer", then right click the drive, and then click on "Properties"? Will your computer recognize these disks?

    Ok,

It's a Toshiba TS-H552B. Seems like lots of users have reported severe problems with this piece of hardware. You can see full reports here:

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php?DVDname=h552b&Submit=Search&cdrs=&cdrws=&dvdrs...&Search=Search

One user says it always fails with DVD-Rw but is OK with DVD-R, so maybe try that. don't burn any faster than 4X either.

If you really want to get into DVD burning - I suggest you buy a new DVD burner - Pionerr is a good buy !!

    Good luck.
