  1. When i go to choose what codec i want to use for compressing the audio, It does not show if it is VBR or CBR like in the Helptopic here. Not to mention my trouble with getting Lame codec installed, what other codec would be good to compress to CBR?

If you had gotten Lame installed it would have both VBR and CBR available. I believe the default MP3 codec in VDM is just CBR. You could also convert the audio in a program like Audacity, though it uses the Lame codec also. It accepts WAV and MP3 audio.

You could also use AC3 by converting with ffmpeggui, or the newer Aud-X audio codec. They have a version of VDM on their site that is set up for Aud-X.

  3. I have an AC-3 ACM codec in VDub. Would that work?

Yes, at least it works for me with using the later versions of AC3 ACM Decompressor.
