virtualdubmod - append video - save out with Direct Stream Copy

Can't guarantee sync, but worth a try.

  3. I used MergeMP3, but had to use mp3DirectCut to rewrite the header of the new mp3 file (it was written as a CBR)

But it didn't work very well, the audio in the second part got out of sync.

I did find a solution for sync such problematic MPR-VBR audio, some of AVI files gets out of sync despite of extracting to wav and recompress, or just uncompress

What you must do is pass each AVI file separately in AVIMUX-GUI tool and then join the resulting files together, must be this way...i.e. (separately "mux" each file and join the resulting files)

The resulted joined AVI than can be processed in VDUB without problems of sync, its safe, but I recommend uncompressed it

    and it works
