    Hi,

Is it possable to input data from a dvd Recorder into a DVin on a cam, or
is the input only IN and not OUT on a dvd recorder.

  2. Most DVD recorders firewire are input only.

I know the older Pioneer models could do DV in and out. Not sure if newer Pioneer's still have this option, but I *think* so.

Confirmed, my Pioneer hard-drive/DVD recorder does firewire in & out, except when
    playing copy protected DVD discs.

But more interestingly, exactly why do you want to export video to your DV camcorder?
If you'd care to share with us, describe the nature of the project you are attempting to

If I understand correctly, your basic question is "How to digitize VHS tapes for editing"?

If your VCR has composit outputs (yellow RCA jack), why not just plug directly into
the DVD recoder's inputs, only capture the scenes that you want, then take that disc
and edit the scenes with an MPEG cutter in your computer?
