    Hello everybody

I've been using TMPgenc 2.5 Plus to encode video files to mpeg with no problems 8)

Recently i got the TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress but it cannot open .avi files that come with the XviD Codec
i got the latest codec but it still gives the error message that cannot open the file.

Is there any solution to this problem?

Because you need to install the XVID codec and raise DirectShow in the TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 environmental settings. Not too sure about 3.0, as that software IS NOT AN UPGRADE but rather a different type of software.

Do yourself a favour and go back to using Plus 2.5. As lordsmurf said, XPress isn't the same program as Plus 2.5 was. 2.5 is a piece of soft for people who know a bit about what they want to do. XPress is designed for the newbie user and has too many restrictions.
