  1. Hello all,

I am looking for some help converting a widescreen (2.42:1?) divx file into compliant DVD format using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5.

The source video is 548x226 @ 23.98 fps.

I am stuck with the options in TMPGEnc when trying to make NTSC compatible DVD as my only resolution choices seems to be 720x480 and 352x480 both which really distort the picture in final mpeg file.

Also I am unsure with interlace settings.

I haven't found topic dealing specifically with avi of strange source resolution and how to maintain aspect ratio when creating DVD.

    Hope someone can help
    Thanks

Use FitCD or guns1ingers AVI resize calc. (Some good stuff to read on that page too!)
There are no "strange" AVI resolutions since there are no standard AVI resolutions.

Have you tried using the DVD NTSC 16:9 wizard in TMPGEnc?
Just make sure the settings on the Mpeg Settings/Advanced tab are SOURCE ASPECT RATIO 1:1 (VGA), and Video Arrange Method is Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio 2).
