    Hi guys!

I want to save my recorded HDTV TS streams from TV to DVD DL.
I choosed AVI XVID (mencoder) or (ffmpeg), but I tried several other options ...
The video was encoded correctly, even the size (1280 x 720) was ok. But I have no audio (5.1 surround) when playing with vlc. vlc shows one audio track with 5.1 sound, but didnīt play 5.1 or even the stereo downmix.
In ffmpegx I took passthru at the audio dialog. I doesnīt ether work when I choose encode audio with ac3.
I donīt know what to do with these ac3 sound... I want HDTV with 5.1 sound.
My setup is a G5 Dual 2.5 Ghz with 4 GB RAM and an optical cable connected to a Yamaha Receiver which can decode 5.1 ac3.

    TIA

  2. TS support is weak for now. Try MPEG Streamclip to extract the audio.

    Thx major.
I tried to use MPEG Streamclip for extracting audio, this works, but then I want to mux the audio and the converted video with the mux function of ffmpegx. I used mux as AVI. But I even had no sound with it, vlc shows one audio track with 5.1 sound but didnīt play it, even no stereo, just like before.
In mplayer I have stereo sound so I think its something with vlc or ffmpegx and ac3, dunno what to do now.
