    Ive had no trouble converting my .avi files to .mpg but i am having trouble getting my .mpg into DVD format!

    Can anyone recomend a free programme?

    dvdauthorgui, but you must demux/split the mpg to video and audio files first(with for example tmpgenc->file->mpeg tools->simple demultiplex).

    or click on Tools->Authoring(DVD) in the menu here to the left ...my favorite is TDA...not free though.

    or convert the avi directly to a dvd with ConvertXtoDVD.

    Right i tried to open with tmpgenc and it says the file is unsupported!

    I'll try ConvertXtoDVD now

    Divxtodvd is the old free version of convertxtodvd but no burning.

    Divxtodvd made the files into .vob, i didnt want them to go to that extension!

    Just to a compatible extension that will work with tmpgenc!

    Are you going from AVI to mpg to DVD?
    Why can't you just use the DVD template in TMPGEnc to go straight from AVI to DVD compatible mpeg2?

    Wasn't a Video DVD your ultimate goal? If so, just burn what divx2dvd outputs to disc, and you're done.
