  1. If I can, please tell this newbie where exactly?. I have a video file that a friend sent me and I saw that it had a HTM exentsion. I would like to burn this file and reedit it..but I do not know how to get it into my program where it says load. I get a message bad format...and yet I am able to view it. Is there a program that would make me convert this video to a more compatible exentsion? It does open in the media player. I do have a VIDEO In and software that came with my card. I also, have XP home 1000 g memory

No, your video file does NOT have an HTM extension. It's an URL to a webpage that points to the actual file.

Of course, it could also be a video file a browser mistakenly named as an HTML file... I experimented with saving a YouTube movie recently, and it saved the FLV file as a different-named .htm file. (At least it didn't need to be reprocessed as binary files saved as text sometimes do...)
