Trouble with Lame Codec...

I install the LAME Codec but it does not show up in my VirtualDubMod.. is there a way to get it to show up?

Are you sure it's installed?

Right click on LameACM.inf and then click Install

You have to restart Virtualdub if you already have it open or it won't show up.

If that doesn't help, you might try this fix.

Good luck. I've never had this problem since it seems to be an XP thing. Hope it fixes your problem.

Lame works in Virtualdub(mpeg) on my XP Pro SP2 machine....it also shows up in Windows Soundrecorder (sndrec32.exe)...you might want to check there too to see if it is installing at all on your system.

1. Search the followind Key in the registry:

The post explains the process but if you're not comfortable or experienced with the registry then according to the thread, this program is suppoesed to fix the registry key.

Just download and run. You might run a virus scan on the file just in case. I like to do that to every file I download before install.

The LAME Codec is still not coming up.

Does it show up in your programs?
You know....the place in XP where you go to delete programs "the correct way".
I recently noticed the lame codec in there as being able to uninstall.

It Does show up on my Programs List, it just isn't showing up in my V-dub!

I don't know what to tell you man. I'm relatively computer stupid compared to most people and Lame shows up in both VirtualDub and Soundrecorder on my computer.
As a matter of fact I just had to re-install it because I'm having keyboard problems and I set my computer configs back one month to see if something I installed in the meantime caused the problem...now lame is back and available in both Soundrecorder and Virtualdub.
