Hi all. Not sure where to put this. Just got a new DivX capable player, but not sure now to burn the avi's onto a dvd with a menu? I love my dvd-lab for my DVD work - is there anything similar i can use to put the avi's on to the dvd with menus and pictures in a similar manner? So nice to not have to convert all those avi's anymore!
Thanks for you assistance. There must be a guide for this but i just can't find it!
Cheers

I may be wrong, but while there are players on the market now that can read DivX 6 videos to a point and display their menus, there still isn't a way to provide a (working) menu to a data disc full of video files other than the one your player may provide.
(It'd be nice, especially since my player has the firmware with the eight-character limitation in the data disc navigation menus, but I don't think any player provides for user-made menus just yet (unless you author a DVD-Video disc.))If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
So basically there is no program that allows me to arthor Mpeg4 like dvd-lab does for Mpeg2? What do you mean by author a 'DVD-Video disc'? I haven't found a programme that authors mpeg4's so as to have multiple mpeg4's on a DVD with a menu.
Any other ideas/suggestions? Surely this must have come up before? im use to mpeg2 authoring - there must be a mpeg4 dvd author out there?
Thanks guys

Yes, it has come up before. Many times. If you use the search function you will find many posts on this subject, all ending up the same. It cannot be done at the present time for any of the existing players. If you want to do something like this you have to use a PC to display the movies, and create a menu using one of the many CD menu creation programs. If you want to use a divx capable DVD player, you are stuck with whatever menu they provide.

What I meant by 'author a DVD-Video disc' was to take the movies and create a normal DVD video/movie disc, playable like most normal commercial DVDs in a standalone DVD player. Using that method, you can create a menu for all the videos on the disc, of course, but that's not what you wanted.

Philips has two very new DVD players ... the DVP 5140 and the DVP 5960 ... both are essentially the same except the DVP 5960 adds features not on the 5140 ... these features include an HDMI output with the ability of the DVD player to upscale or up convert to 720p/1080i.
Anyways it is my understanding that both the DVP 5140 and the DVP 5960 support DivX 6.x including the menu functions. These two DVD players have the "DivX Ultra" label.
The DVP 5140 is at WALMART for about $56 whereas the DVP 5960 can be bought at BEST BUY and CIRCUIT CITY for $80
These are USA models and USA prices of course.
