  1. I have a R220 printer that is only 6 months old. It started giving me all kinds of strange error messages and saying that the paper was jammed and stuff. Found out that the cyan epson cartridge bottom had came open and drained all the ink into the bottom of the printer. There is blue everywhere. I got it cleaned up enought to print (barely) but I have no cyan print. No amount of head cleaning will get the cyan to print. I want to take the print heads out and give it a could soaking/cleaning. Where can I find any instructions in tearing this printer down. I had use other cartridges beside epson so that is why I can't use the warrenty on it.

Is it worth the trouble? Printers like DVD players and VCR's are disposable. Not worth the time and money to repair. You can get a new R220 cheap on e-bay.

You're printer is mostly likely still covered under the warranty (length of time). The warranty states that using non-Epson products MAY void your warranty, not that it actually will. In fact, if memory serves there's even been a judgement in federal court that decided that they couldn't void a warranty just because someone used a 3rd party cartridge. I'd send it in. It's just an idle threat with no real backing.
