    hi,
    im trying to play a video file but WMP and VLC player cant handle it, and when i put it thru gspot it cant tell anything about the file.............about the codec etc, just says it cant render the file but gives no reason.

    anything else i could try??

    media player classic

    or accept that it might be corrupt and unreadable.

    What is it and where did it come from ? (i.e. is it avi, mov, mpg etc. did you download it, get it on a disc ?)

    Which version of GSpot did you use? The 2.52 beta should be able to tell you a bit more about the file, as should the other utilities guns1inger suggested.

    However, if VLC won't exactly play it, I'm not sure Media Player Classic will. Does VLC load the file? I think VLC also has its own information/properties detail (Ctrl-I, Stream and Media Info, I think), which might also provide some clues about the movie.
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
