  1. I am having trouble trying to capture some NTSC video tapes. In Australia, we use the PAL sytem.

    I connect my VCR to my Digital Video Camera to convert the signal from analogue to digital, then connect a firewire from the DVC to the computer. The VCR is NTSC capable, and in my DVC's streaming menu, I select the input source as being NTSC.

    However, when I play the NTSC tape and try to capture, I only get audio, with no picture at all. Can anybody suggest how I can get around this?

    Is the VCR capable of ouputting a true NTSC signal? In other words is there a NTSC/PAL output selection. If you don't have that you'll have to get a regular NTSC VCR. Most likely you won't even be able to capture it as PAL because from ny understanding most don't do a true PAL conversion but output a siganl called PAL60.
