I have an AVI file with a seperate SRT subtitle file. Would like to merge subtitles into AVI file.
Am currently using ffmpegX to convert files.
How can I merge subtitles into AVI so that I can:
- see movie on computer with subtitles
- see movie from DVD recorder on TV with subtitles
I use Mac OS X.
Help anyone? RobBlue

AVI-Mux GUI (win32 only) can mux subs. Works fine on computer. Doesn't work on any standalone I have heard of.
A divx file with xsubs is about the best bet for standalone playback, that is assuming your player can play divx files. Did DXN release divxmux for anything other than windows though?
Also, from your post, it sounds like a standard player, in which case you need to convert to DVD video (alt. (S)VCD), but that doesn't go with the title.
