  1. friends of mine will be getting a MacBook and ill be talking them into a larger monitor for that.

    viewsonic @ buy.com 20" = 260 $$

    samsung @buy.com 20" = 510 $$

    I have samsung, and love them but these people are not 'big time users' will the view sonic be crisp and enough for them?

    they got a dell about 2 1/2 years ago I think about 15" and it was really really awfull!!!!!!!
    not crisp, very smuggy etc.

    if vview sonic is OK they could get some RAM!

    I actually suggest an LG.
    I'm not ViewSonic fan. But I'm not all that fond of Samsung either.

    Finding a decent LCD is not easy.
    Most of them are just far, far too bright and washed out.

    I have a Viewsonic and I love it.
    My advice would be, let them get what is good to there eyes. That was the advice I got when I went shopping for myself.

    Second the Viewsonic Flat...we use them at work, after using Dells.
    Always had good luck with Viewsonic monitors, flat or crt.
