  1. Hello all,
I'm in the process of converting a OGM file into a DVD. Here's the process I'm using:
    1. I use VirtualDubMod to Demux the audtio stream and remove the subtitles. This creates an AVI file and an OGG file for the audio. (Note: I've checked the avi file and there is no choppiness)
    2. I use OggdropXPd to convert the OGG file to a WAV file
    3. I then use TMPGEnc Xpress to recombine the AVI file and the WAV file to create a compatible MPG file for burning.
And it is after this process that the video is choppy. I double checked and the AVI video stream which was saved using VirtualDubMod is just fine, it plays smoothly but obviously has no sound. But the MPG file created using TMPGEnc Xpress is choppy. I've included a screenshot of the Filter screen on TMPGEnc Xpress, I've tried Deinterlace (Double framerate) option and the choppiness is a little better but it is still there, just faster now. And this is when i am just previewing the file on this screen? Is there a better program out there to recombine the AVI and WAV files or are there other options that i am missing?
    Please HELP!!!
    thanks

your source is probably not interlaced so you don't need any deinterlacing.

are you converting to same framerate as the source? 60 fps as tmpgenc says doesn't sound correct...check with mediainfo.

  3. no the original avi is 29.97 fps. That 60 fps only shows up if I change it to the Deinterlace (double frame rate) option. And even without changing any option if I run the preview feature, the movie is choppy in the preview window... So i'm not sure if i should be using another program or not...
