I am using Scenarist built-in AC-3 Encoder to convert uncompressed 48 MHz audio files to
DVD compatible *.ac3 format.
While this built-in converter doesn't have much of settings the documentation doesn't cover it very well.
I had nothing to do but to try some different combination of the settings. Some of the settings names are self-explanatory. Some are not. Doesn't matter how many times I tried the sound on final DVD appears to have no bass tone (most of the sound is just pop music from 70th).
I tend to believe that is me who messed up the setting. I am apparently not using proper adjustments. Besides it, the software I am using is rather old. I wonder if recent releases of Premier Pro or After Effects with support of DVD authoring would do a better job encoding audio.
If so...would you please share your suggestions on best settings.
Thanks in advance!

I have personally tested the Sonic Foundry 5.1 Plug-In Pack for ACID Pro, as well as Sonic Foundry Soft Encode. These methods should also work for BeSweet, Vegas Video + DVD, Scenarist, and other software-based encoders.
