I've never had a problem with Super until now. I've used it to encode an entire movie in WMV format to AVI. But now I'm having a problem converting a WMV file to AVI. It encodes the file normally, but when I play it in WMP10, it is totally whacked. It's hard to even describe. The file is extremely choppy and looks like someone's playing a DVD on Fast Forward X32. The timer jumps right along with the scene, going from 2:32 in one second to 3:45 in the next. When I try to fast forward the clip, it looks like it says that the clip is 19 hours long. I tried another WMV file and it did the exact same thing. What should I do? Here is the info on the file

    Video #0
    Codec/String : WMV3
    Codec/Info : Windows Media Video 9
    BitRate/String : 515 Kbps
    Width : 640
    Height : 480
    AspectRatio/String : 4/3

    Audio #0
    Codec/String : WMA2
    Codec/Info : Windows Media Audio 2
    BitRate/String : 64 Kbps
    Channel(s)/String : 2 channels
    SamplingRate/String : 44 KHz

In super encoding , dont adjust frame rate ... just convert wmv straight to avi .

Gspot may beable to show true frame rate of wmv file .

Open avi in vdub , go to file , file info , check frame rate is match of original wmv .
If not , go to video , framerate , set to original frame rate from wmv file .
Setup audio encoding and compression ... setup compression for video ... save as avi (another folder)

Use Guiffmpeg to do framerate conversion to required rate ... or ulead video studio se (ebay = cheapo) , has the best frame rate conversion I have seen for such a cheap price .. it cover's alot ... what it dosent , is backed up with freeware here in tool's section .

As you have found out ... pc's with the right decoder's installed will play any framerate ... other device's will not .

Actually, when I put the file into GSpot, it doesn't tell me anything about the framerate.

I'm actually kinda lost. I couldn't get the framerate from GSpot. The file is in WMV format, so I can't open it in virtual dub. If anyone could give me some clearer instructions, I'd appreciate it.

Funny thing; I encoded the file on an older computer I have with the previous version of Super (Jan 2006), and it worked fine. Must be something with the decoders/encoders in my newer computer. Thanks for the help everyone.
