Does anyone know how Nero converts .dat files when making VCDs?
As you know you can add .dat files straight to new VCD instead of converting it to .mpg first. Just wanted to know if there is any lost of quality in your opinion - it saves time when you donīt have to do that .dat>.mpg conversion. TIA

Firstly, why are you using a .dat file (off a VCD I presume) and burning it as a new VCD with Nero?
Are you copying the VCD?
If you are, then all that is required is to use the "CD Copy" function in any of the common burning proggies.
As for DAT <--> MPEG conversion, there is no loss of quality.
