Can anyone please help. I would like to capture VHS video with Virtualdub, but would like to use the Panasonic Codec so that I can edit the video with my Panasonic software, prior to creating a DVD. If I try to set the compression for capturing, the codec does not appear in that list. (File> Capture AVI> Video>Compression). But if I go to Video> Compression in the “normal” mode, the codec does appear. I have downloaded the codec on my computer.
Thanks (or should I rather capture as uncompressed?)

I'm not sure if you can capture through a video card with a DV codec. If you are using a Firewire input, you might try VirtualDub 1.6. Otherwise, try using th Huffy UV or PICVideo MJPEG. They are both high quality, with PicVideo taking up a little less space on the hard drive.
