Hope someone can help. Or knows what I'm talking about. Its concerning avi files. The picture is great, so is the audio. The problem is that the video goes too fast for the audio to catch up. It like needs to be even. How do I fix this problem?

It seems that every avi file that I have, its never evened out. Mpgs, wmv, and qt files do not have this problem. Just avis. Do I need a certain codec so that the picture as well as sound in the avi file will play evenly?

What program are you using to play the AVIs? You might try VLC Media Player. It uses it's own codecs and could rule out your codecs as the problem.

Is the sync error the same throughout the video or does it gradually get worse? If it's the same, you can apply an audio offset with a program like VirtualDub Mod.

If it gradually gets worse, then the audio and video are likely different lengths. This type error is most commonly caused by bad joining or bad frames within the file. VDM can check it for errors, also.

Im using Windows Media Player to play the avis. I'll look into VLC Media Player to see if the problem is resolved.
