Everytime I go to use the mpeg2enc I either get this message(See Subject Line) or it cannot read the header and it fails.
I use the ffmpeg all the time with very little problems. It seems to be recent,,with the new (w) version.
I have an iBook G3 700Mhz and it seems to run everything else just fine. I am using the G3 codecs for the mplayer and the mpeg2enc.Intel....Should I go back to the older version? If so do you have a link for it?

  2. Which format is your source file? mpeg2enc.intel should also work on G3.

Usually I use mpeg2enc for .mpg files but I have had the same problem with avi's and encoding w/mplayer

  4. Is your Quicktime Player able to play those .mpg files?

Yes, I can play them on quicktime and the mplayer.

  6. Possibly send your process output (blue "i" icon in the progress window) to major4@mac.com, that would help in troubleshooting.
