I need to cut 5-6 parts from my MPG-2 video file.I marked the exact point of time in minutes and seconds, where to cut but I was wondering which tool could I use,it would be good if it's freeware??I know VirtualDUb can cut to one file but I need to for cutting to minimum 5 clips.I have Speed Video Splitter but it can't cut at the exact point of time (e.g I need to cut from 23:05s but when I move the slider it can cut from 23:15s,so the program becomes usless).unfortunately I can't input time from where to cut,I only can move the slider fro mleft to right with this program.wHICH TOOL DO YA GUYS SUGGEST??

    Here

https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=291744 Adding chapters and commercial removal

Use batchdemux to demux your mpeg2 into seperate video and audio stream's (dump the audio)
Open your mpeg2 in vdub , set audio to full processing , check conversion is 48hz , 16bit , stereo , and save as wav .
Encode this wav using besweet to ac3 (no lower than 96kbps) ... belight for 6 channel ac3 .

While that mpeg2 is in vdub , follow my guide here to create celltime text file (where your cut's will be)

    Depending on source ...

    Ifoedit for pal source ... author dvd ... add you m2v , ac3 , and celltime's text , and author .
(You need to use "get vts sector's" when it complete's) .. and check audio and video stream info is correct .

Rejig for ntsc ... author dvd , similar approach as used in ifoedit .

When that's done , use vobedit to demux via cell id , and that's how it's done ... you now have 5 clip's .

You don't have to cut a file to make chapters. Chapters are marks WITHIN a single file.

What are you trying to do? Take one file and make 6 different movies out of it that you can go to individualy?

Mark the six "scenes" so you can start watching at a specific point or jump to the next/previous chapter?

What DVD authoring software are you using?

I'm using Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4.0.But the problem is when I input 2 files, first file is 1.31Gb in size and second is 1.69 GB,under slider it displays it can't fit on my DVD(over 5.6Gb in size??)??Funny!!Obviously there is bug within program.I mean I know how to make chapters with this program I madem them 1000 times, but those 2 files can't fit on DVD.Fom first file I need to cut 3 parts and make chapters with them, and from second file I need to cut 6 parts, and make chapters with them. That would be total of 9 chapters. How can i cut those clips in VideoReDo,each clip as single video(ofcourse which I'll use for making chapters)??

Not really funny, when you figure that the 5.6gb size it is telling you is it's estimate after it converts the video, audio, transitions, and menu's. You either need to use a software where you can specifiy the bitrate (which I do believe you should be able to do in moviefactory), or make it as two seperate dvd's. You will have a slight loss in quality if you force both files to one dvd, unless you use a DVD9 (dual layer).

  9. In Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4.0 make sure you check the box that says do not convert compliant files. I think it is in one of the settings dialog boxes. Since version 2.0 I've been able to specify bit rates. They even have a shrink DVD feature that allows you to shrink a processed DVD when you are done.

My guess is that your file size problem is due to the software trying to convert your files and the default audio format is PCM instead of MP2. PCM audio blows up the size of your disk real fast. Play with the menus (the two butttons in the lower left of the window) and find the knobs to twist. I bet it will solve your size problem.

There is a VideoReDo FAQ about "How can I create multiple output files from a single editing session".
