I realize there was another poll asking how much time you spend
commuting, but this poll asks "How do you get there"!!!

Here in the USA we like big cars and trucks, but gas prices
are creeping up. People are obviously changing their commuting
    habits.

I've been seeing a LOT of motorized scooters on the roads and
an increase in motorcycles. Other countries have been doing that for
    a long time.

But, of course, some things never change. I still see the huge
    gas hogs driving by everyday.

By the way, the high gas prices and the switch to scooters is NOTHING new here.
I saw exactly the same thing happen in the 1970s when gasoline prices
shot over $1.00 a gallon! It was EXACTLY the same. Deja vu, it's happening again!

    Imagine that!

So, how do you commute to work? Don't include school, only work.

Either car or motorcycle. About 25km one way...

Interesting note: Motorcycles do not get good gas mileage - my RF600 is worse than my Integra. You have to remember that current sport 600's are running about 100Hp at the wheel. (skooters get good mileage)

If by creeping, you mean the creep who gropes your girlfriend on a crowded subway, maybe. These prices are blaasting out of control right up our collective bum.

I wish that I could teleport my kids to every destination, as they're the only reason I ever drive my car. I'm much more comfortable walking or biking, though whther you do that or drive, you still have to contend with the questionable drivers out there who just occasionally like to talk on their cell while hopping onto the sidewalk for a second.

    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

I drive a great big gas guzzling Ford van with a V-8, I bulldoze down virgin forest, eat Spotted owl for lunch with a side of Snail darters and dump the leftovers into the creek.

Once gas prices reach what they pay in the UK or Europe then I might start to complain. Otherwise I just love driving too much to worry about gas prices. But fortunately now I don't drive to work in my own car. Now I'm travelling so I take the jet to the location for the week and then take the rental car (or public transportation if it's nice like DC) during the week. My car is happy that it gets to sit in the garage while I'm away since it hates the weather and traffic conditions around Dallas

Just prior to this I was driving 50 miles to and from work (about 40-45 minutes) every weekday and that was running up miles fast on my new car. Now all my "commuting" gas is expensed by the company and the mileage isn't on my car 8)
