    I have some movies with frame 720 X 304 and 640 X 272.
The problem is that there are to small when i watch them on tv.
The width is OK but the height is to small. I can zoom the picture but if i do this then i cut off 1/3 of the picture width.

I can fix this if i play movies on my PC (i just click Touch window from outside in windows media player) but how to fix this if i want to see them on tv.

I probably must convert movie to different frame or maybe i must do something else.
Which converter can do this job fast and without losing the picture quality?
What should be the frame size when i am converting it?

    Some help please.

I don't know what that setting is in Widnows Media Player, however you really can't do much about it if you are converting to DVD. Your choices are

    1. Leave it as is and have the bars top and bottom
    2. Zoom until it fills the screen and loose the edges of the picture - up to 30% of the image, depending the film
    3. Stretch the image to fill out the frame, and have everything tall and skinny.

Let me ask you this - what do you do when you watch widescreen DVDs ?

you cant make them taller without cutting off the ends or or stretching them. So which do you prefer ?

Virtualdub is the simplest. The built in resize function.

How do you normally play these videos back on your TV ?

    I found out another way.
    It works perfect for me.
I have used Tmpgenc (clicked Video-CD and choosed PAL). That is all.
I have now the whole fullscreen picture.

Thank you for your help guns1inger.

You also have very low quality, but if you are happy with that, great.

  9. TMPGEnc's default behaviour is to stretch the video to completely fill the frame.

Yes, you are right. The quality isnt so good as original.
Will virtualdub create movie with better quality?

How to resize video in virtualdub? Do you know some tutorial?

  11. Just use the DVD template rather than VCD.

If i use DVD then i have got 4 GB large video. Original is only 750 MB big (1 hour).
I could change estimated file size but i dont know how far can i go without losing the quality of the movie.

I would like to convert 9 Movie clips (Lord of the rings - Extended Edition). Every clip is about 1 hour long and 750 MB big.

Can you give me some tips how to set settings in Tmpgenc. 4GB for 1 hour long clip is to much.

OK - you don't buy DVDs, but you have LOTRs - can't help you any more. Sorry.
