What is the Taiwan factory called btw? is it RITEK? because they are VERY good Verbatim (MCC 003/004) media. Is MCC in Singapore?

    Nice Dye!!
    Oh dear....

Who makes the discs? MCC makes the discs. Their code, their specifications, their materials, their on-site quality control. It's MCC media.

Where are the discs made? Mitsubishi's own Singapore plant is where newer discs (currently MKM DL media). Prodisc Technology and CMC Magnetics plants are where MCC media is made in Taiwan. Moser Bauer (or however it's spelled) plants are where MCC media is made in Taiwan. At one time, somebody in Europe is/was/would be making MCC media as well, but I lost track of where that went (not fakes), if it happened or if it still goes or quit.

In other words, CMC or whoever does not "make" the discs. It's just real estate. I'm sure there are CMC employees doing some of the work, but at the end of the day, you cannot consider those CMC media. They're simply not the same thing. CMC, Prodisc, MBI ... they have their own media. In fact, some of them do media for other people too (CMC does TDK, for example).

    Clear?

    I'm pretty sure I'm clear.

MCC are Mitsubishi Chemical Corp discs, with their Advanced AZO/+.Simple.They are just made in different plants.

But chas0039 conflicts with your explaination. Is chas0039 clear?

Moser Baer's plant is in India I thought? (Moser Baer India, Ltd)

"Moser Baer is a world leader in the development and manufacture of removable data storage media. Incorporated in 1983, the company is today one of India's leading technology companies and ranks among the top three optical storage media manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in New Delhi, India, it has a broad and robust product range of floppy disks, compact discs (CDs) and digital versatile discs (DVDs)."

Here in the UK the majarity of Verbatim media (MCC 003/004) says Made In India (The Moser Baer plant) on the side of the spindle tub.The quality does not compare to Verbatim MCC Made In Taiwan (MII are NOT GOOD).Even though the same materials are used.I've had several spindles of MII from different Online stores on different occasions, all of poor quality for my standards.

"Moser Baer is a world leader" Whatever.
