I am attempting to convert a RealVideo clip to AVI. I downloaded the realvideo codec pack but I have run into a problem. To tutorial syas to place it in library>application support>fempegx. Since I am on a old G3 running OSX 10.3.9 there IS no ffmpegx file in the library for me to put it in. Any suggestions?

  2. Are you running ffmpegX 0.0.9w?

Yes. And I am using the old codecs as per your suggestion.

  4. If you use 0.0.9w there -must- be a /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX directory.

There isn't. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. Remember I am on a G3.

  6. Where yours mpeg2enc, mplayer, mencoder components are located then? Maybe you didn't use the self-installer to install them.

They are in a file called "ripping". I used the self installer but it never made a ffmpeg dile in the library. You told me to use the older versions.

  8. Normally the self installer should create a ffmpegX/ folder in /Library/Application Support. If not, create it by hand and move the components there, as well as the reallib/ folder.

In an earlier post Major you said not to. This is confusing...

Nope. But it plays fine in RealPlayer.

  12. can you give the link for where you downloaded the real player libraries from? All I see on the site linked by major's homepage is linux versions.

    Thanks

  13. On the ffmpegX site download page there is also a second link pointing to a "stable build".

  14. Thank you, I should really look more closely before I ask other people.
