  1. I have been looking at the Canopus ADVC-100 and the Hollywood DV-Bridge as methods of converting analog video into DV format to transfer via firewire (i-link, 1394, whatever). I've read in the forums that people like the Sony DA2, but it's no longer available. I've also read reviews that like the Canopus ADVC-100 over the Hollywood DV-Bridge.

Is anyone out there using the Canopus? I realize that it's very new. What about the Hollywood DV-Bridge? Is it a good idea to wean myself off of my analog capture card that is not supported in XP and go to firewire/DV?

Thanks for any opinions and info.

  5. yeah their software is pretty much crap...however, the videowave aint all that bad....if one of these came with something the would do dv directly to mpeg realtime, then i would be happy..but i had to go search on the internet and find and buy something...but the hardware is definately nice, no complaints...
