if i buy ddr2 400mhz memory module for this barebone will it work?

The specs for that barebone doesn't say DDR2 memory. You'll have to get DDR(400) PC3200 or DDR (333)PC2700 type of memory.

DDR2 and DDR memory are very different. That system requires the use of DDR RAM, as budz has pointed out, so you need to get some DDR400 (PC3200) RAM for that.
I don't think DDR2 modules would even fit, and they definitely wouldn't work. -
No, DDR2 is not backwards-compatable with DDR memory, they have different pins. 224 for DDR2 and 184 for DDR if my memory still serves me.
