Hi
i have burnt a dvd where the audio plays fine on my pc but on certain stand alone players it is completely distorted.
Any ideas why??

what kind of audio? mpeg1 layer2, ac3 or pcm wav?
how did you convert to dvd? what tool(s)? -
Its was an avi file put through MainConcept MPEG encoder. I then used TMPGENC Dvdauthor to convert to dvd format.
After running the original avi file through gspot it gives the following info:
Audio 055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
Hopefully this is the info you were looking for. -
MP3's only play on SOME DVD players. To ensure compatability, convert the sound to AC3.

i got some vhs-cassette's converted to DVD,
& when i tested them, they played fine in an LG-PLAYER,
But "no" sound in a Sony dvd-player??
any idea's -
It doesn't matter what the source file had, what audio format does the encoded DVD have ? If it is DVD compliant and created by the mainconcept encoder it will be either PCM, AC3 or mpeg-1 layer2 (mp2 or mp2). MP2 doesn't play on all NTSC players, but should play on most (all ?) PAL players. If you have your audio hooked up to an amp via optical or coax digital, make sure that mpeg audio is set to output as PCM, as most amps won't decode it through the digital output.
