I have just converted 4 AVIs - Using Virtual dub & Tmpeg - to Mpgs. Unfortunately I set the screen ratios to 4.3 pal. Once I converted I deleted the AVIs. When I put the Mpgs in my DVD & Turned on the tv the mpgs show in letterbox style ( I do not have widescreen TV). Is there anyway I can get the Mpgs back to normal viewing size ? - Help !!!!

You can use DVDPatcher to set the DAR flag to 16:9 if that's what you want.

I think you have confused original aspect ratio with TV screen aspect ratio. My reading is you want a full screen version of the video, not a letterboxed widescreen. The only way to do this is to crop and resize (and re-encode, as you don't have the originals). Of course in doing this you could be cutting off as much as 25 - 30% of the image.
