My computer crashes occasionally, and when it does it creates these files ,dmp files in my C:\WINNT\Minidump folder. I don't know how to view them. The only thing I found so far:
    http://www.debuginfo.com/tools/minidumpview.html doesn't tell me anything!

I get Not available under every category there. So this minidump viewer or maybe the information in it is totally useless. Is there a way I can read these files? I suspect that they are createdbmy Windows (in my case Windows 2000 SP4).

    Hi,

As far as I know, minidump files contain a copy of the data stored in ram. The information, unless you know machine language or at least assembly language, will look like garbage to your eyes.

These files are used to debug problems with applications and or the OS itself.
