I've been successful in getting ATI MMC 9.08 to do some nice TV captures in AVI, however I noticed that even when using a compression codec (e.g. HufYUV) and have MORE than enough space for a 90 minute broadcast, MMC tells me I only have space for 40. Okay, so be it, but then when the scheduled recording comes up, TV starts but not the recording. So, if I back off the length of the recording to something below 40 minutes, the recorder starts up just fine! So, just for kicks, I set the timer for more than 40 minutes, the problem reproduces itself. Conclusion, MMC will not set the recorder if IT things there's not enough space for the file. The 40 minute recording only takes up about 20 GB, easily leaving enough for another 50 minutes on my drive.
Is there any way to force the scheduler to record whether MMC thinks you have the space or not? (That is, besides using Virtual VCR, which factors HufYUV compression correctly, but results in a slight drop in audio volume for some reason--which is why I'd like to make MMC work if I can.)
Thanks
