I've used VCDEasy 1152 to make VCDs from mpg files. The chapter setting worked when I used a single file -- on playing in my DVD player it would skip to the selected points. However, when I made one with two mpg files, setting several chapters in each, when played there these had no effect -- skipping jumped from the first file to the second. If I opened it in a software player, like VLC, it saw the chapter points; but only in the first file.

Can this be done in VCDEasy; or do I need to use somethng like TMPGEnc to combine the mpgs first?

Attached the XML file made by VCDEasy, the chapter breaks are all there apparently.

It may be a bug in VCDEasy. Have you tried to contact the author about this?

I have a suggestion. Use a video editor (I prefer MPEGVCR at http://www.womble.com) and join the videos into a single file. Then make chapters on this one file.

By the way, chapters on VCD are technically called "entry points", so if you see someone talking about "entry points", they mean chapters.

I don't recommend editing with TMPGenc as it works OK for some people and for others such as me, we get horrible audio sync problems if we try to use it for editing. That's why I bought MPEGVCR. I needed a reliable editor.

Finally, I just noticed your version of VCDEasy and you are way behind in updates. I'm guessing that you are using a free version. Your problem may have been fixed in a more recent, non-free version of the program. Again, you could ask the author.

After some rambling through the forums and elsewhere I think my problem is that I don't understand the "Interactivity" settings, which is where menus are set up. This is very poorly explained (unless you already have a lot more background than I do). Also, there is a dedicated VCDEasy forum, so I'll continue my quest there.
