A few days ago, I recorded a TV show, 60 minutes long.
Later, when I watched the show, the sound started lagging behind the video
about five minutes into the show, and gradually got worse. About 45 minutes later,
the video was jerky and the audio further out of sync.

I downloaded and installed the latest update, but did not fix the problem.
I recorded shows from different TV channels, still goofing up.
I recorded several shows, each with a different video setting,
    still having the same problems.

This card is two years old and has worked flawlessly until now. Nothing has changed
    on the computer.
Running a 2.4gig processor with 1 gig of RAM.

Anyone have any suggestions to solve my problem??

If you tried a lower resolution/bitrate and you are still having the same problem, it sounds like you are dropping frames. Try capturing and check your CPU usage in Task Manager. If you are running 100% CPU, then I would suspect you have a program or two running in the background stealing CPU cycles. In Task Manager again, see if any other programs are running and check your 'Processes' to see what, if anything, is loading down the CPU.

Some antivirus programs can cause this. The drive you are capturing to can also cause problems if it is mostly full or badly fragmented. If you are capturing to your boot drive, an additional drive would likely perform better. The boot drive has the OS writing and reading from it fairly often and that can interfere with capturing.

Another possibility is a trojan/virus that is running. Do a through scan of your system. Trend Micro has a good online scanner for free. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

I think something has 'changed on the computer'.

    Redwudz,
Many thanks for your suggestions for solving my problem.
I tried recording at a slower bit rate and the recording was okay.
    I used Windows Media Video.
When I tried DVD, the recording was terrible, as far as the sound
    being for out of sync.
Using Task Manager, I check the CPU usage during recording and
it varied between 46 and 60 percent. The Processes showed
only the recorder and system, with the system at 2.

I ran House Call and my computer was clean. I also ran CCleaner
    and it was clean.
I have two SATA hard drives. One for the OS and the other for videos.
The video drive is 98 percent free.

Because I've never had a problem recording at a high bit rate, I'm puzzled why
all of a sudden I'm having a problem. As far as I know, the only thing
I've change on my system, is installing IE7 (beta) a week ago.
If I don't find what is causing my problem, I may do a system restore or
    remove IE7.
    Thanks again for your post.

    Redwudz,

    This is really wierd!
I was still having problems with the sound getting out of sync, after trying several things.
Finally, I decided to completely delete the software including all the updates.
I also deleted everything I could in the register.
I re-installed the program from the original CD and now everything is working fine.
Question is, do I download the updates from Leadtek again?? There has been two or three
updates on the drivers and one on the application software.
    Any ideas??

I think the saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' applies here. Unless you can find where the problem came from, I would not update it. You might look around the net for a Leadtek forum or look around on the manufacturers website to see if they say anything about the problem. Or it could just be the order of installing the software or some other software that interferes with the Leadtek drivers.
