I'm fairly new when it comes to useing FFmpegX so i'll post my question and see if its something simple people can answer.
I have some film thats an extra widescreen format, 2.35-1 ratio that I would like to change to the more normal 16-9 for playback. I have tried padding it using the ffmpeg Xvid preset but it tends to get squashed out of shape, dispite the new black bars.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is there a specific setup i should be using when i want to leave the file alone, other than adding black bars?
Also is there any means of stopping FFmpegX re-encoding the video while this is going on? I dont want it to be doing a completely unecessary video change when I'm hapy with it as it is.
Any suggestions or simple 'its there dummy' pointers would be much appreciated.
