I've used the combo of HC with DVDRebuilder (free versions) a couple of times with good results. However, I just tried to backup Munich and ran into trouble. I ripped the entire uncompressed dvd to my HD and I can play it like that, but when I processed it using HC/rebuilder, it seemed to process normally but when I play the new dvd the video is screwed up. It comes out as a bunch of diagonal lines though you can tell the movie is in there between those lines somewhere and the audio is fine. Anyone have this problem? and what can I do about it?

I've had exactly the same problem this last week. It seem to me that the HC encoder is causing the problem so you could always change it to QuEnc (pretty good encoder too). Alternativley, I download the lastest HC (18 I think) and just ran DGindex and avisynth manually and fed them to the new encoder via the gui. Authored the resultant m2v with Rejig and burnt with Nero. No problem

Use the version of AVISYNTH that comes with DVD Rebuilder. There are still some bugs in the beta version of AVISYNTH that is floating around.
