  1. I am capturing analog sources in DV, than i edited and render to DV again, and the end i render to mpeg2.

What you think about this solution. I capturing with ADVC 110. I render again to dv because i use avisynth filters to produce quality picture, and than render to mpeg2.

DV-DV-mpeg2. Is this the same like DV-mpeg2.

    Instead of doing
    DV - avisynth - DV - mpeg2
    I would do
    DV - avisynth - mpeg2
and if I wanted to archive the finished DV product for possible re-editing I would also
    DV - avisynth - DV
But if you're not archiving the DV, then there's really no point in rendering to DV before encoding to mpeg2.

  3. I said that, i Capture DV, than edited material and render to DV, and than with avisynth i render to mpeg2.

So, my question was, does capture in dv, and render to dv and render to mpeg IS same like capture in dv and render in mpeg2?

Just to clarify, DV to DV really isn't rendering..It's simpling saving..Unless of course, you've got colour correction or filtering throughout the clip...

What you think about this solution. I capturing with ADVC 110. I render again to dv because i use avisynth filters to produce quality picture, and than render to mpeg2.
If you're set on using AVISynth filters, i'd personally serve the original DV straight to the Mpeg encoder..

So, my question was, does capture in dv, and render to dv and render to mpeg IS same like capture in dv and render in mpeg2?
It's the same thing, but another step, and large filesize..This is why many people used AVISynth in the first place...

I do this process just when i have something to editing. Only than i "render" to dv.

In other cases i put dv avi files in CCE and render to mpeg2(using avisynth).

I just asked does dv to dv than to mpeg2 is less quality than dv-mpeg2

If you just cut/trim you original DV file and then save as DV, it doesn't matter.
If you edit the original DV file (adding effects, text ...), there's no need to save as DV again. Save directly to MPEG2.
When you render you may lose quality. So DV (render) MPEG2 is, in theory, better then DV (render) DV (render) MPEG2.

What are you using to "(add some effect, add animation, transition...)" in DV? If you use a program like Premiere Pro or Vegas you will only be "rendering" changed frames. The others will be copied from the original DV capture file with no generation loss.

The resulting timeline can be then frameserved through avisynth filters to the MPeg2 encoder. Make sure any colorspace conversions are done properly.

  9. I work in Pinnacle Studio plus 10. I add some transitions, effect, cutting, and when finished i render to DV. Than than DV i import like "avs" in CCE to encode to mpeg2

What you think, does pinnacle studio work recompression of DV avi or not?
