  1. Hi, I'm hoping to be able to create an audio cd that will play normally in cd players, but have some data extras on the disc if it is put into a computer CD-ROM. I would like the autorun to just basically open an html file from the disc (which has a flash file in it) automatically when the disc is put into the CD drive.

    I'm quite sure this is possible. I've fooled with Roxio CD creator and some kind of junky freeware autorun softwares with little success. I'm just wondering if anyone has any more experience with these and could recommend software or methods that can do this. I'd prefer free, but I will pay money if needed. Thanks a lot. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

    Only thing to watch (as far as the PC side of it) is the format you burn with. There are two hybrid audo/data modes - Mixed Mode and CD Extra

    Mixed Mode puts the data track first followed by audio tracks. An audio play MIGHT try and play the data track by mistake - the urban legend goes that this can blow amplifiers etc.

    CD Extra puts audio tracks in the first SESSION, and a data track in the second session. Audio CD players are only required to support the first session, and never see the data track.

    Nero can easily create either format for you.

    As for the autorun itself, check out http://www.phdcc.com/shellrun/autorun.htm

    Then your AUTORUN.INF file would be something like ...
    Code:
    [autorun]
    open=ShellRun.exe index.htm

  3. Thanks for the help. I checked out that software demo and it seemed to work. It's got all kinds of functions for making a menu upon starting up that I don't need. I just want the html file to open right away. $90 for that is pretty steep, in my opinion.

    I did some research and found ways to do autorun with just an .inf file and I also tried some similar freeware that just opens an html file, but both only work in either mixed-mode CD's or Data-only CD's. CD Extra format did not work.

    Do you know of any way around that? Or is the only answer the $90 software you mentioned? Thanks a lot for your input.

    Edit: Ok I suppose I was mistaken on the price....I was looking at the business registration. Personal use is $12. This will probably do.
