Can someone tell me what settings I have to set ffmpegx at so when I convert to mp4 and transfer to my PSP the video will be fullscreen without having to change the setting on the psp to zoom

also this probly would cause the picture to be distorted if the regular resolution of the video was even right?
    enough to bother you though?
if so whats the closest res setting to full screen i can set it at without making the picture look warped so then I can set the psp to zoom

    Thanks

Currently there is no way to encode for the full 480x272 resolution of the PSP (and have it play it), Sony has locked that out - which sucks. There are several zoom options available on the PSP, just pick the one that fills the screen but doesn't stretch or chop your video.
Remember that if your source video is 4:3 you need to encode in 320x240, leaving the default of 368x208 (16:9) will stretch your video and give you your problems.

If I have files wider than the PSP screen is there any way of getting them to play without it stretching them? I know it 'can' play wider but I assume full screen mode will stretch it?

I assume that when you say wider than the PSP screen, you mean the video proportions are very letterbox at something like 2.35:1. You need to do some stuff in ffmpegx to turn it into a 16:9 video with black bars included. The subsequent video will be the same ratio as the PSP screen. There's something about it in this guide:
    http://www.ffmpegx.com/psph264.html

I haven't encoded any 2.35:1 for my PSP yet, but I think that when encoding you set the ratio to 16:9 368x208, and also have the boxes "Decode with QT" and "Letterbox" checked it should turn out fine. It doesn't look like this is available as a one step solution in the PSP h.264 setting yet, only regular "PSP."
