Hi,
I want to create an application for capturing video from a web cam and can show the images in a window of a monitor, but with the posibility of handle it, for example, drawing some graphic on the video, applying a filter, etc.
I was looking for information, and i think if im gonna write the app with C++.
My question: Are Directshow the API's i have to use? others API's should be needed?
And, Will I have to use the API's of the camera?

I think DirectShow will do the trick. Download the SDK and look at the examples. I think they have one that does something similar to what you want.

Most classic webcams use the older "video for windows". I haven't looked at the latest webcams.
