Hello everyone,
I am having problems rendering my movie I created in Vegas 6. It begins to render to wmv format then after it reaches around 25% my entire PC shuts down. Is my hardware failing when I render? Any help will be greatly appreciate.
I am running a 1.4 AMD ghz, 1gb of ram, 2 hard drives (one for the prog and os and the other for videos), pretty decent video card.

I would suggest overheating as a highly likely suspect. Rendering is CPU intensive, and if temperature is going to be a problem, rendering will bring it to the fore. Start by taking off the case covers and blowing out all the dust. Keep the case open, point a small electric fan intot he guts, and start your render again. If it still fails, you have other problems. If it render through, go and buy a bigger fan or some decent case fans to get circulation of air flow happening.

Google for temp monitoring utilities, install and watch temp when rendering. If going above 55-60 C check your fan/heatsink.
